The Lexcel Quality Mark – setting the standard for client care, compliance and practice management in law firms

Finding a reputable law firm is made easier by certain indicators. The prestigious Lexcel Quality Mark is one such example - Gina Samuel-Richards of AGR Law told us why.

Award-winning law firm, AGR Law, is holder of the prestigious Lexcel Quality Mark. In this article, solicitor-director Gina Samuel-Richards explains why people searching for legal advice should choose a solicitor with this accreditation.

What is the Lexcel Quality Mark?

The Law Society, an independent professional body for solicitors in England and Wales, sets the Lexcel Quality Mark. They represent both solicitors and their clients, whilst protecting everyone’s rights to justice and driving excellence amongst legal professionals.

What does the Lexcel Quality Mark mean?

Gina said: “Firms with the Lexcel Quality Mark have been assessed rigorously and independently to ensure they can demonstrate continuing excellence in several areas. “At AGR Law, we have always prioritised exceptional client care. This accreditation recognises that and the exacting standards to which our firm is run.” Areas relevant to clients include: ·         Client care - new clients will receive terms of business and estimated costs. The firm will have a robust complaints procedure ·         Risk and people management – policies and procedures will be in place to govern risks, such as outsourcing and money laundering ·         Financial, information, file and case management – including data protection Other areas covered include: ·         People management – managing staff, from recruiting and onboarding to career development ·         Structure and strategy – yearly objectives, long-term strategies and disaster recovery Gina said: “One of the reasons we strive to hold this accreditation is because it allows us to offer Legal Aid. This means eligible people can access legal advice, family mediation and representation with a reduced financial strain.” Firms which have achieved the Lexcel Quality Mark have applied for it and are deemed as meeting the required high standards. Reassessment takes place at the end of years one and two (annual maintenance visits) and a full reassessment at the end of year three.

AGR Law

Summing up, Gina said: “The Lexcel Quality Mark gives AGR Law a clear framework that is approved by the Law Society. “Clients can have confidence in solicitors with the Mark. They will benefit from the best possible service, regardless of the nature, complexity or length of their case.”
